Review
The Penumbra series is back with the last game of the trilogy: Requiem. The game continues the storyline of the last two; however it seems that the writers ran out of ink on this one. The game starts where you left off, after sending the message in the last game, Philip is knocked out (again) by something, and wakes up in some sort of tomb.
The game now is more level puzzles than anything, and that's not bad, these are very well done. The graphics are pretty much the same, as well as the atmosphere. However, into the game you will find yourself with the same sense of danger as in the previous two. Even if you die, the element of something scary out there that can kill you is gone. The game still provides good solid entertainment, but I don't think it can be recommended to someone that hasn't played the first two. This is a decent closure to the series, although some players were expecting something more. If you have played Overture and Black Plague, then you might want to end the series with this one. |
